Customers highly praise Duckswax for its ease of application, pleasant citrus scent, and effectiveness in reviving and waterproofing leather items like motorcycle gear, jackets, and gloves. Users note it restores color, softens, and doesn't leave a greasy residue. Though some mention the shiny finish initially, it absorbs well, leaving a supple feel. It's notably effective against rain, protecting leather from heavy downpours, making it a trusted choice for leather maintenance.
Wonderful wax for my leathers - and smells amazing. What's not to like
I have no idea what it'll be like in the rain, I don't take my bike out in the wet stuff.
But I do know this stuff soaks into my leathers nicely, leaves it looking and smelling good. I normally use the S100 balm, but thought I'd try this brand and think it's just as good.
Will order the "black" version next time to see if that's any better on my leathers
Purchased this with a new jacket. Needs to be warmed up to get it into stitching etc bet dries quickly. Does not alter colour of leather and can be buffed up to a shine when dry.
Lovely product and it smells lovely too once applied to leather jackets and clothing.
Easy to use and apply.
I've used it only on my Alpinestars SMX-5 boots and although not leather this wax goes on really well with a small sponge. It takes a day or so to be absorbed but it really does allow water to form beads and just roll off just like the phrase "water off a duck's back". I'm looking forward to using this wax on my leathers when I start using them in Spring. Thanks Sportsbikeshop staff for all the help and great customer service that is always appreciated. Bruce
Great stuff. On my 3rd pot
Got this for a 5 day motorcycle trip around Wales. Applied to boots, summer gloves and jacket. Although I wasn't expecting 100%, it's done a very good job keeping away even heavy downpours for quite some time and protecting the leather. Very pleased and would use again.
This is really good stuff.
Use it on all my leather motorcycle gear. Spot on service from Sportsbikeshop as usual.
Boots gloves and any other leather. Keeps it clean, looking smart and most importantly waterproof.
Not been out in a prolonged downpour yet - I wasxed leathers and gloves and under the tap on the gloves the water is inpenetrable, it rolls of leaving the gloves dry. If you want to get your knee down I recommend a few days after you've waxed your leather trousers give the bottom area a good polish or buff as that area if unbuffed/polished makes body shift not too smooth - will propably be good after a few rides but a bottom area buff/polish after the wax has been absorbed really gives you a head start for body shift
Rubs in ok when warmed up a bit. I did a leather jacket trousers and a Barbour wax jacket and had a bit left. Not tested leather in wet but the wax jacket is fully waterproof again.
I've tried numerous leather conditioners, but Duckswax is the best. By far. It's the best 'food' at adding water repellence (albeit nothing makes leather 100% waterproof), has the best smell, easy to apply, and a tub lasts ages. I found it's best to apply DucksWax thinly and give it a while to soak in.
When I have leather gear that will be used in the rain, e.g. Gore-Tex gloves, I use DucksWax to help the outer leather resists 'wetting out'. But DucksWax is also brilliant for keeping my race leathers in good shape, making them last longer.
Really good wax for my boots. Looks like it soaks in and restores colour. Left on for a week before using, and it soaked in really well. Not a strong odour like dubbin either. Left and rubbed. Very good protector.
Look like new and performing like new. Stopped a leak in its tracks.
Used this for the first time on my motorcycle boots, easy to apply (especially if you warm the leather with a hairdryer first). Brought the boots up like new. I wore my boots for the first time in heavy rain this morning and was pleasantly amazed! The water was just beading and rolling off the leather, like a newly waxed car surface. Very impressed and will continue to use this product.
I use this on my leather jacket, gloves and boots and also my wax cotton jackets, comes with a sponge applicator making it a doddle to apply. A pot goes a long way. Great product.
Fantastic product.
Easy to spread with the provided sponge. Pleasant citrus smell. My leathers looked totally revived. I first freaked out a bit that my black mat jacket got very shiny with the wax but 2 days later, the wax soaked in and the mat finish was back and revived
