Kriega Steelcore Security Strap - 4.5ft

This product is just what is required for that extra piece of mind around sercurity of the soft lugage on the bike.
Lockable strap works very well fis around my large soft panniers - and as added security with a steelwire running through it, quality product. Love them

Robust and looks well made. Will used it for the tail pack. Easy to put on and take off. The lock looks well made as well.

I got these straps to put off opportunist thieves. They're not particularly cheap and a bit bulky, but if they save my gear while I'm getting a coffee I'll be happy.
Well made. Decent length. Should be durable.

Can't speak for the security aspect and hope I'll never have to but seems robust, lock looks good and it has secured my roll bag on my bike throughout my trip to Spain. Only giving it a good score as I wish there were multiple steel core lanes within the strap.

Essential if you want to be able to secure your OS bags. They are pricey as they are sold as singles however they work really well. The only reason they dropped a star is one of the first ones I had fell apart the first time I tried to use it, however it was quickly swapped by Sportsbikeshop. Must have been a one off as the replacement and the other original one are solid.

Haven't used them yet but they appear to be of good quality. Bought the orange ones as they are easily seen on the bike and would, hopefully, make the bike more visible to other road users.

I don't doubt it's a good deterrent, but it's cumbersome and awkward to use and doesn't sit well on the pannier. Apart from this it's fine!

A policeman once told me that padlocks only keep innocent people out. That said, these are a great deterrent if your leaving your bike to pay for fuel or get a coffee. I place the locking mechanism behind the pannier, between the bike and pannier thus making it very difficult to force the lock.
I'm happy with them.

The good points...bought the orange for the deterrence value, the straps are very robust, won't damage/abrade the soft luggage like a wire one would, price was ok. The less good...the actual lock mechanism is not that robust and its very difficult to actually close the lock in place over the strap. This may get easier over time as the strap softens. However I would not trust that a screwdriver would not open the lock which feels like the weak point and the keys for both the straps bought are exactly the same. It turns out this is pretty convenient but it was disconcerting to realise Kriega only have 20 different keys/locks for all these straps. The name Kriega isn't on the box anywhere but it is the same as the picture so I am sure it is correct. If after use I have further comment I will update this review.

Bought to fit around some soft luggage I recently purchased. They're pretty long so there's an excess of strap to tie up somehow. I found them a bit fiddly to put on at first but once you've the knack they're fine.
Gives the confidence to leave the bike unattended with luggage left on. Hopefully they'll never be put to the test.
I've deducted a star because it's not easy getting the key into the lock!
