What a back protector should be

The fit is great and it's comfortable all day long. After five hours in 27-degree weather, I still hadn't noticed I was wearing it. It's light, well ventilated and it moulds to my anatomy well.

The coverage is also excellent. It extends quite far down the spine, roughly 55 cm give or take a few cm for the medium size, which is phenomenal compared to other leading premium brands like Dainese. Their protectors look like an afterthought compared to this one. Alpinestars gear usually has a premium, but in my opinion, this protector justifies the cost, and if your jacket can accommodate it, it's a must-buy.

The second you take this piece of kit out of the wrapper you can tell it's something very special.
The look, feel of the double layered material and flexibility instantly inspires confidence.
Just slot it in the extended back pouch and forget about it. Makes me want to replace all of my D30 armour for this new Plasma.

Does it's job very well

Protected my back perfectly in an accident. Thin enough that you don't feel it, tough enough to protect you. Moulds to your body. Can't praise it highly enough.

Alpinestars Nucleon Plasma Full Back Protector

A lot longer than the normal size back protectors, which is good. A lot thinner too but is CE level 2 so can only be a good thing & you can't even tell it's there. Size Large fitted perfectly into a XL Alpinestars T-GP R V3 jacket, which has two pockets inside so you can choose normal or longer back protectors. Make sure your jacket has the longer pocket as it obviously will not fit in the standard pockets.
