Not the most sophisticated lock on the market but probably the most economic I've found without compromising on efficiency. Small and light enough to carry on the bike and fits the disc brake on my trike perfectly.

Received wisdom has it that there is no such thing as perfect security. That said, what can be done is to either deter criminals in the first place or buy time should they decide to try to steal your bike. This disc lock is Sold Secure Gold and so should withstand most attacks - but perhaps not cordless angle grinders. "Professional" thieves will stop at nothing anyway, but this lock ought to be good enough to thwart most of those planning to take your bike. It's solid, heavy for its size, easy to see and carry and offers a decent level of protection. And an epic discount from SBS...

Bought it for my wife (so I could keep her in the kitchen) only joking but it was for her to use on her bike
It’s easy enough to carry and can be used as a disc lock or it can be used as a padlock to lock a chain or Cable
I’ve not attacked it with a grinder but it looks like it will hold up to most attempted theft relatively well

I used to have one of these locks when I had a 954 Fireblade. It easily fitted under the seat and didn't rattle around. I've bought another one for my Triumph Sprint ST1050 and it fits in the lockable glove box as well as a pair of glasses and the tool box. It fits over the disc easily enough and feels well built. Easy to use.

Handy lock for the rucksack

Comfortably fits front disc of Triumph Speed 400
Looks good enough to hopefully deter a casual thief, while I'm away having a coffee. However I understand that something more substantial is required for longer stops.
Not too heavy to carry: too big for a jacket pocket, but small enough for the rucksack.

What is the distance from the underside of the U-shackle to th top of the lock body, on both the 12.7mm and 16mm diameter options?
