Advice & Guides Riding doesn’t have to mean restricting yourself to your own headspace, thanks to comms system that let you stay in touch with passengers, riding buddies and your phone…

Customers largely appreciate the Cardo intercom's sound quality, ease of installation, and convenience for listening to music and receiving navigation instructions. They highlight the effectiveness of voice commands but also note occasional issues such as difficulties with certain voice commands and faulty microphones. Some experienced connectivity problems, especially with advanced features like Apple CarPlay, while others noted that battery life could vary. Overall, the users found it satisfactory for communication, despite challenges they encountered with reliability and the occasional lack of support from Cardo.
Very easy to get up and running. Not bulky or intrusive on the side of her lid. My wife rides with her friends and this connects to them all as they all use the Cardo intercom. Not sure if it is compatible with others. Easy access for maps, telephone and music. I opted not to have one as I prefer to hear my exhaust, although a bit of Van Halen wouldn't hurt. As always, simple process with Sportsbikeshop, click and it is in the house within 2 days.
Just getting back into biking after a 15 year break and these made the experience more enjoyable than I ever remember.
My friend was able to guide me and remind me little things to do and checks to make etc. The sound was crystal clear.
Initial setup was fairly easy and physical navigation buttons easy to use.
Technology was great as my son was calling me. When I answered the call it severed the connection between me and my friend to keep the phone conversation private. When the phone call was ended it reconnected to my friend instantaneously.
I can honestly say given the opportunity again I wouldnt hesitate to buy these.
Did my homework before purchasing as there are so many sets on the market.
There are cheaper products, but I have no regrets about spending the extra money.
Great gadget. The speakers are crystal clear and the hands free side is so important.
Great product. Not disappointed at all
It works really well, sound is crisp, and it s easy to use.
Delivery was well packed and super quick. Highly recommended.
Fast next day delivery. Super service, product arrived updamaged
I bought this to fix to a pair of ear defenders, to use when driving my (very noisy) Caterham Super 7. I did an online search beforehand and this model looked best suited for what I need. I then searched the website for the best price and Sports Bike Shop were the cheapest. Not only that, the online buying process was simple and quick, and they arrived very quickly. The cherry on the top is the setup works brilliantly! Well done Sportsbikeshop and Cardo!
Essential for any ride out! The staff were great at helping me find the right intercom for my needs. They also highlighted that I could save money when buying this with my helmet. This was a purchase that I planned to make anyway but it was great to save a little when purchasing it
Arrived quickly from SBS. Easy to set up and HD speakers sound very good and loud enough to be heard clearly whilst riding at a sensible motorway speed (for reference, I ride a Multistrada and the screen can be noisy at speeds above about 60). Voice control works well but I haven’t learnt all the commands yet as mainly only need for sat nav and music. Great upgrade from my old Interphone Sport unit and from looking at reviews probably better than the Senna based unit which integrates into my Shoei helmet. Overall very pleased and £50 off in the sale.
Had these fitted by sportbikeshop on 2 new helmets I bought for me and my wife. Excellent sound quality and loudness, even at 70mph on the motorway we can hear each other. Have used in the rain and has survived with no problems. I find the voice control a bit hit and miss, I don't think it can grasp my Yorkshire accent.
I'm a technophobe and new to the world of intercoms. Took a while to install in helmet and set up, but I was taking my time as never done it before and after watching several online videos it was quite as hard as expected.
Did have a few teething issues, like Bluetooth intercom with pillion cutting out constantly, but realised was inadvertently touching button on bottom when doing shoulder checks. Realised if that happened I could just say "hey cardo call intercom" and it easily reconnected on the move.
Instructions from satnav clear, sound quality on music excellent, much better than I expected.
Was on the fence, but decided to take the plunge and really glad I did. One of those things that you don't know how much you appreciate/will improve your riding experience until you try it
I liked this intercom.. Catching 'Hey Cardo' sometimes not easily, but apart from that all good..
Got these as 2up with the missus a lot nowadays, and saves me cranking my neck The Exorcist Style and us having to shout at each other about yet another toilet stop.
Only downside is all the singing and yelps.
After reading many reviews I decided to purchase the Cardo Freecom 4x, does everything I need, easy to set up, excellent battery life.
Quality is great, installing is easy. It's just a great piece of equipment
Fitted to helmet not to hard to set up not used yet but very happy
Always wanted one of these and this kit ticks all the boxes and performs as it says on the box. Sound quality is really surprisingly good and im fussy with sound quality. Functionally its a bit awkward to get used to but once youve cracked it its a sinch. Very happy with this kit and cant wait to use it on a long tour with the boss on the back.
First time using an intercom from any manufacturer, so I went through a lot of reviews - mainly Cardo and Sena, and for my needs on functionality, as well as the feedback on the quality of the product, the Freecom 4x came out on top. installing to my Shoei Neotec 2 was a little frustration, probably in me trying very hard to route the wires to a more discrete position, as well as lack of competence on my part!
I have yet to use all of the functionality - yet to try comms via phone as well as intercom with pillion or another rider, but when I have used media and sat nav, it has been perfect.
Already have the Freecom 4 plus on my original helmet which was brilliant but bought a new Shoie GT air 2 so treated myself to the updated 4x which again is excellent.

It would be a case of trying it, due to all the helmets being different shapes. We offer a free returns policy for all mainland UK orders over £25.
Find it cheaper at any major motorcycle accessory retailer, online or in-store and we‘ll match it.
