The price of this version compared to the standard version made it tempting. The main unit seems well made and appears to do what it’s supposed to do. Time will tell. The connector that is left attached to your battery is a reasonable idea and makes it simple to use, but the connecting pins were misaligned and made it a struggle to connect up. If the connector was better (and if it was easy to buy another, which would make it a perfect fit for someone with more than one bike) I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend, but it needs some work.

This is a nice little battery charger but was let down catastrophically by the connector that you use to plug it into the supplied battery leads failing after just 13 months of lite use. Oxford customer service were awful - saying it was out of warranty and I must have been unlucky, but this same issue is quoted on lots of review sites. They wouldn't accept my photos or discuss it any further unless I was willing to ship the unit back to them by recorded delivery at my own cost.

Good for the money

Returned the normal version as it stopped working after a few uses. Staff at SBS were great and got it sorted quickly.
I've used this model a handful of times and it does the job. It's simple and easy to use however connections can be a bit fiddly hooking it up together, but for the price you can't really complain.
Would recommend for anyone that wants an affordable battery optimiser/charger.

Cheaper than the normal 900 and apparently does the exact same job. Plus £10 off a £30 spend from Sportsbikeshop was a bonus. I needed a second one of these for my partners bike as I already have one and kept having to switch them over during winter. So this means both bikes are permanently on maintenance/trickle charge over those cold winter months.

A 'Must Have' to keep your battery happy

After the battery went flat on my RE HUNTER I decided to get one of these to prevent it happening again. Easy to connect up and keeps battery (and me) happy.

Only had for a few weeks, but it was simple and easy to use, although the bike already had the plug wired in so I was lucky, the display is sufficient, it seems good value, and delivery from sportsbikeshop was quick.

Good charger that looks after your battery

Good charger and does a good job of looking after your bike battery. But for the extra money it's probably best going for the Oxford Oximiser 900 as that one comes with crocodile clips and wall bracket which is very hand for storing the charger.
LCD screen is clear and easy to use.

Already own one of these bad boy's but due to certain strange readings I thought mine was dying, so I ordered a replacement, while waiting on it arriving I discovered that the problem was in fact my "faulty battery" pity. Because the battery cost me near on £100.00 (Returned this charger) but a good piece of kit if you don't already have one especially over winter 10/10

November 7, 2019The Oximiser 900-888 will come supplied with a fused eyelet lead to allow attachment to the battery. Unfortunately there are no crocodile clip leads nor is there a wall bracket included.

October 31, 2019If the battery is deeply discharged to approximately 4.1 Volts, the Oximiser 900 will charge at up to 900mA/hr until it reaches 11.8 Volts and the bulk charge mode (The Oximiser 900 will otherwise apply a gentle charge up-to 200mA/h to ensure the battery is brought up to a full charge).
Is this suitable for a Harley Davidson Sportster 48 with an absorbed glass matt (AGM) battery?
