Arai Profile V - Patch Red

Having moved up from a 125 to a 600 I was advised to invest in some decent skull protection, I do not regret it this helmet is amazing, the weight difference from my flip front is much appreciated, the build quality is superb, visor easy to swap, my only critique would be fitting intercom speakers could be made easier with bigger cutouts but that goes against arai ethics of maximum protection, i wear glasses and thought i would miss my flip down sun visor of my previous helmet but i now just carry sun glasses with me and pull over and swap when necessary

After owning an Axces 3 for about three years now, I decided to buy a new Arai and got again what I expected. Great quality and superior fit. Latter of course depends on your headshape but I haven't found any other brand that fits me that well.

BTW: my head perimeter is about 58,5 cm and size M fits perfect.

Oh yes, and the visor mechanism improved a lot in comparison to the Axces 3. At least for me taking off and putting on the visor is much easier now.

Recently purchased this helmet for my girlfriend. She had never been on a bike before so this was going to be her first. Naturally went straight to Arai and couldn't be more impressed with the Profile V.

The build quality is fantastic as per usual with Arai, the padding on the inside is super soft and supportive. Visibility is amazing and the noise level is very good.

Ideal helmet for long rides with its comfort level. Wouldn't buy anything other than an Arai.

Love this lid. Extremely comfortable and it's Arai, so I trust it.

Great looking helmet with bright graphics and I think it will suit a sports bike as well as a modern retro. Beautifully made and well finished a high degree of quality. Fiddly visor latch and no internal sun visor which is quite disappointing but over a Good Score

This helmet is quieter than my Nolan, and feels a bit nicer in terms of quality.
The lining is very soft to the touch.
The visor latch is a bit fiddly with gloves on, and it has no internal visor. There's an external one you can buy but it's quite pricey.
My favourite thing though is that the field of view is very large, especially up top, which is handy if you ride a sports bike.

Incredibly fast delivery, as for the helmet, i worried about the 'profile V' thought it might be loose. But what a great fit. And visor change easy after a few tries. Matt paint really works well against the yellow stripes. Even my wife likes it.....well she paid for it.

This is my first Arai helmet. The main positives are the paint scheme - it's amazing and the stock photo does not do it justice. The other notable positive is the inner liner which is very plush. That said, it's quite noisy, and I find the fit a bit strange compared to Shoei helmets. For a mid-tier helmet - it is pretty pricey too. If this got lost/stolen, I'd probably buy another NXR instead.

AN excellent first dive into the Arai range. I have previously been a die hard Shoei customer, having several lids over the past 10 years - The change to Arai was mainly due my dislike of internal sun visors on most of the Shoei touring lids in my price range; I was basically seduced by the external sun visor / peak idea (bought as an added extra).
The Arai fit is much more snug, but not at all uncomfortable - the range of vision in terms of peripherals is excellent - the visor release has taken about a week to get used to, and the top vents are 'ok' - eyebrow vents and chin vents are great, and the lid is almost as quite as my previous old Shoei XR.
I was initially a bit worried about making an online purchase of a helmet - I cheekily went to my local bike shop and tried on a few Arai lids to see what the sizing was like - the website guide was very useful in this respect also - free returns made this a non issue also.

Difficult to rate...for safety probably 5* (from what I read)...for fit probably 5* (because I have an Arai head), and for build quality probably 4* (not 5* because they decided not to make all the lining removable)...but my 1* review is basically a reflection of my overall riding satisfaction because for me this helmet is unbearably noisy, and this was a complete surprise for something at this price point. Obviously I ride with ear plugs to prevent hearing damage - I can barely hear the engine. But the wind noise is terrible above about 50mph - my ears are ringing as I write this. My wife just asked me if i want to meet her somewhere - and I actually said no since I would be on the motorway for an hour and I just couldn't bear the thought of it - can you imagine, passing up the opportunity of a ride out on a sunny day! A Windjammer has helped slightly with air flow from beneath, and I've tried bunging up various holes to no effect. Maybe its just better for a lower-speed applications - I can imagine town riding is just fine but I don't do a lot of that on my sports bike. When you look at the design, maybe my expectations were wrong - the side pods look as if they can't be anything else but noisy (although I don't find them as difficult to operate as some) and I guess that anything with vents is a compromise of cooling and wind noise. Still, the bottom line is that for an expensive helmet, my riding enjoyment is poor and I genuinely regret buying this particular model.

Had Arai for years then wanted a helmet with built in visor so got a Shark. Whilst its OK for short rides, for long rides and real comfort the Arai is just so much better and with the tinted over visor its almost there with a built in drop don visor.
