Merlin Chigwell Lite Air Mesh Textile Jacket - Black

This is a summer mesh jacket from Merlin. It's my second jacket from them and is well made. Merlin have two summer mesh jackets. This one come without the waterproof liner . You get a nice cool breeze flowing through the jacket when riding. It's so cool you'll need another layer on more inclement days. On a warm day it does exactly what's needed. It comes with armour including a back protector. It's quite heavy when you pick it up but feels lighter on. Fit wise it does come up a bit big. This suits me fine as I'm a well built chap. If you are more on the slim side I would suggest sizing one size down. Overall a great jacket. Looks smart too.

Firstly, I need to say the service from Sportsbikeshop was excellent. The jacket itself is true to size, so unlike the Revit Eclipse jacket I bought, I didn't have to go a size up. I I'm a 43 inch chest and this large sized jacket is snug, but gives you enough room to move too. It is heavier than the Revit Eclipse but seems to let more air flow through it. The jacket is designed and cut really well. It has 5 different pieces of armour (including back protection) but you can barely tell. Ultimately, this a great looking summer jacket with brilliant levels of protection at a good price point. You can't go wrong with this one.

Very pleased with this purchase. Jacket looks good with a slightly retro style, and well protected with D30 armour (albeit level 1). Quality appears to be excellent. Pockets are perhaps a little lacking, but I guess they would hinder airflow if there were more of them. Unlike some summer jackets the mesh isn't too shiny, and the green is a good dark shade - almost looking brown in some lights. Thoroughly recommend it.
