Reviews We were given early access to Shoei's hottest new helmet... and here's our verdict
Customers generally find the Neotec 3 to be a high-quality premium helmet with significant improvements over previous models, notably in comfort, ventilation, and noise reduction. While some are pleased with the sun visor and overall design, a few customers noted that the chin strap and visor mechanisms could be fiddly or less comfortable. Many valued the option to customize fit with cheek pads and appreciated the helmet's quietness and stability. High price is acknowledged, yet perceived as justified given the helmet's features and build quality.
I like the fact I could change the check pads for a different size some times find undoing the helmet difficult as a lease mechanism for the strap is very close to the padding I’m sure this will get easier as I get used to it
Great fit. Quality mechanisms and included pinlock.
Great fit and really good quality item
Having already done more than two years and 20,000+ miles in my previous Neotec 3, there was never really any question what I’d replace it with when I needed a smaller size after losing weight (and my chubby face!). The old one was still going strong and has gone off for a new life with someone else - it's still 'like new'!
My wife has one as well, and between us we’ve been that impressed with them that I genuinely wouldn’t buy anything else now.
The Neotec 3 is just the complete package. The comfort is superb, the quality feels top class, and it’s quiet, stable and easy to live with on long rides. The flip-front mechanism is solid, the in built sun visor is useful every ride pretty much, and it just gives that reassuring feeling of being very well made. I’ve had mine in blue before and now gone for white, but the colour aside, this is still the helmet I’d choose every time. Expensive, yes, but for me absolutely worth it.
I moved the comms over from the old helmet to the new one, and it took less than 20 minutes to strip and refit. Once you've done it once, it's very easy thanks to a good layout from Shoei.
Helmet is very comfortable. I did find to start pinlock obscured my vision when looling back to start. Im now more used to it but would be nice if they made a visor to sort this
Love this helmet more comfortable than my schuberth c3
It's quiet, good quality. The service from SBS is the real story here; they gave me a 10% discount where Shoei Longbridge said discounts were not possible. SBS brilliance yet again.
I had to return my original order and go for the next size up.
Wore it for the first ride this morning and the vents work well. I could feel the air flow on my head.
It's a quality helmet.
This is my Third Neotec and delivers everything I have come to expect of the brand. It has only had a couple of outings but I find it comfortable and pretty quiet. The staff at the Preston Branch were very good at making sure the fit was correct and were prepared to swap out any of the liners to find a better fit if required, it was not required and i left with the original liners. It is an expensive lid but the quality makes it worth it. The Anthracite, I understand, is not a popular colour but when it was taken out of the box in the shop a number of people commented on how smart it looked, worth seeing in the flesh, so to speak.
Lovely helmet first time of buying Shoei , very impressed A+
This helmet is spot on. After testing it out in-store, I found an unbeatable deal online—and since I was long overdue for an upgrade, I pulled the trigger.
The stock yellow finish is sharp and looks even better in person than it does in photos. However, the real game-changer for me was the customization potential. Using my CNC cutter, I mapped out custom vinyl templates for the Neotec Grasp graphics.
Why I love it:
Versatility: I can now swap the yellow sections for any color or pattern I’m feeling at the moment.
Safety on Demand: If I’m heading out for a long trip or riding in low light, I can peel off the custom wraps in seconds to return it to the original high-vis yellow.
Perfect Fit: Having tried it on beforehand, I knew the comfort was already there; the aesthetics are just the icing on the cake.
If you're a fan of the Neotec but want the freedom to "mix things up" without losing that hi-vis safety net, this is a fantastic canvas.
This is my third shoei flip face helmet the previous two have accompanied me on rides around Britain and the world and have never let me down . They have always performed very well in some of the extreme weathers I have found myself in .Whilst expensive they are more than worth the extra cost .
This is my 2nd neotec, great product, comfortable and the usual great service from SBS
Probably the only flip up helmet I've owned that feels really secure, nothing particularly incredible about it but everything about it works really well... not sure why so many say its so quiet though, its pretty loud even for a flip in my opinion, but if thats its only flaw I'll take it.
Light, comfortable well fitting helmet that has reduced noise levels even further than the previous Neotec2. Expensive but so far worth it.
Only used once but noticeably quieter and better ventilated than my Neotec 2. Hopefully the visor seal has also been improved and won’t leak in the rain. Fit seems slightly different, less space across forehead and chin bar is closer. Recommend using the personal fitting service, I didn’t initially as I assumed fit would be the same as my old helmet and had to go back due to pressure on forehead. Excellent service from Sue at Milton Keynes shop. Highly recommend a visit.
Very comfy, one of the safest modular helmets on the market as well. Quality as expected from the top tier manufacturer. A lot of ventilation. Inner padding coming in different sizes helps to get it fit properly. Not as quiet as my GT3 air, but this was expected.
Find it cheaper at any major motorcycle accessory retailer, online or in-store and we‘ll match it.
