Richa Arctic Textile Waterproof Glove - Black
Customer Product Reviews
I bought these gloves after the original pair I had purchased from Sportsbikeshop weren't fit for purpose. I was allowed to exchange with no fuss under their exchange policy and cant recommend the gloves or the store highly enough. Many thanks guys, I'l be back for future purchases.
I have tried several different gloves in this price range, none of which were as described. These are a perfect fit, warm, comfortable and controls are usable with no fumbling. The best thing is the lining doesn't pull out when you take them off no matter how warm your hands are. I would certainly recommend them.
From a selection of 5 pairs, including the cheaper Richa Carbons, of so called winter gloves, I went for these. There are not hugely bulky and the sizing is spot on. Fairly stiff to begin with but after a few rides they...ahem...fit like a glove. Coldest I have ridden in is 4 degrees and the tips of my fingers were just starting to get gold after 25 mins. Seeing I ride a naked bike with zero protection, I'm Happy with that. Haven't tested in heavy downpour yet, but the build quality makes me believe they'll be fine. Additionally you get a visor wipe, but it's not overly useful, I still use a Vee wipe. Overall good value glove that will see me through to late Spring. Excellent service as ever from SBS.
Awesome bit of kit
Exactly as described, fully waterproof and very comfortable to wear didn't need any breaking in as the leather palm is thin enough. Sometimes the cold gets to your fingers even with heated grips, during winter 40min commute but happy to sacrifice a little warmth for dry hands!
Perfect fit and warm.
Firstly I noticed these are a perfect fit for me, the sizing chart was spot on. They are not bulky at all and give a great feel at the controls Slightly stiff at first but within a hundred miles had softened up nicely. I still think there's enough space in there for a additional thermal lining glove which gets me onto the warmth. I tested them in dry 2-3degs about 5pm and was a spirited ride and although the back and palm of my hands remained warm, I'd say the last inch /finger tips got cold. I don't have heated grips and I ride a R1 so hands are fully exposed. As previously mentioned I'm looking to try a pair of silk/thin thermal inner gloves to see how much that helps. But to be fair I wouldn't normally ride in that cold a temperature and travelling swiftly with wind chill must've been well below zero degrees. I can't review the waterproofing as haven't got them wet yet. To summarise, these are a very well made, comfortable, warm glove which should keep you warm down to 5degs. A great price and usual fast delivery from SBS. Highly recommended.
Warm and comfy
I'm being generous here as I haven't tried these in the wet. However, they are very warm and I think they look great too. Sizing was spot-on. I checked the chart and it fits perfectly. They are not cheap but if you can afford them go for it.
Great value winter gloves
These are really warm and comfortable, I haven't tried out the waterproofing yet. They are quite thick but then they probably need to be if they are going to keep you warm, they aren't too bulky and I didn't lose too much feel for the controls. Based on other reviews I ordered a size bigger than my normal but the correct size according to the size chart for my palm measurement and I'm glad I did, they fit great and I don't think I could have got the medium on. Overall very pleased so far.
Great Winter gloves
These gloves are great. They are really comfortable, offering great protection from impact and the elements. The only negative is that they have quite a pronounce flare from the wrist which makes them tricky to tuck into your jacket cuffs. At this price point they are excellent.
Good winter glove
Bought these gloves after a friend reccomended them to me and just been out on my naked bike for an hour in temp of 6 degrees and them worked very well. At the end of the ride the ends of my fingers were starting to feel cold but compared to my other gloves I would of had to stop after about 20 mins to thaw out my hands. If you have a bike with farings then I'm sure you could ride for at least a couple of hours before you noticed any coldness. Great gloves for the price!!
Just what I needed
I needed a pair of gloves that are warm, waterproof and flexible. They are very well made and whilst I'm happy with the fit, I should really have ordered a size larger so that getting them on and off would be easier. Overall, I would highly recommend these gloves.
Nice and warm and comfortable on first use
These gloves were a replacement for a pair of Wolf gloves that started to come apart after very limited use. As always, Sportsbike Shop customer service were very quick to rectify the problem so top marks to them. I have very long fingers and average size palms, so often struggle with buying gloves. I ordered these in an XL and they were very comfortable from the first use. I've been out in 3-4 degrees for a couple of hours and had no issues with cold or numb fingers. I'm sure they will be even more comfortable with a bit more use. Not tried them in the rain so cannot comment on how good they'd be at keeping your hands dry, but so far, so good. Reasonably priced and definitely recommended.
Comfy from the off, waterproof at the moment, sometimes the W/P liner breaks down with time so we'll see. I commute 40 miles round trip and at around 0' degrees my fingers are chilly on arrival, but heated grips help keep the chill at bay. I have found warming the gloves or hands before putting them on keeps them comfortable longer. No issues with use of switches etc on the handle bars. I opted for one size up which proved a good fit.
Comfortable dry gloves
These have a very reassuring amount of protection on them, keep your hands dry in heavy rain are comfortable to wear. That said they are not extremely warm as the name would imply, after 30 minutes of riding around or under 5 degrees my fingers start to get numb so thinking about adding heated grips.
I was tempted to buy these by RIDE magazines recommendation. My 'Average' rating is perhaps a little unfair, but I'm reluctant to put 'good'. I have had £20 pairs of gloves that seem as good as these - as warm, waterproof - but admittedly they haven't lasted long (two summers). Their quality is good, I think, but I'm fearful that the lining will pull out with my hands some time as happened with a cheap pair once, as my hands seem to 'stick' to the lining a bit when I take my hands out. The cuffs could be a bit wider as well and it takes me a minute or two ensuring that my sleeves are tucked in. Overall, it's early days but I'm not sure they justify the price tag, and that's at a reduced price...
Great price/quality ratio
To be honest i think as quality/price ratio these gloves are probably the best on the market if you are looking for something warm and with great waterproof. Not too bulky , quite comfy and good protections. I don't think these gloves are enough for facing a full riding winter, that's why I personally decided to go for higher price heated gloves having to ride every single day through the winter.
