Oxford Continental MS Boots - Black

These aren't the most elegant motorcycle footwear but they are up to the job for touring. Constructed with quality leather they should provide good protection and will inspire confidence.
Being short in the leg I was looking for boots with a substantial sole thickness and these certainly help in getting feet down and manoeuvring when sat on the bike.
With zips on both sides they are easy to get on and off and It's possible to do so with just the outer zip down.
I found that the top edge of the shin protector on the right boot dug into the shin the first time I wore them but they soon softened with wear and are now very comfortable.
I found the staff at Sportsbikeshop very helpful and understanding when I returned another pair of boots and exchanged them for the Oxfords. Good to know if you find you're not happy with a purchase.
If you're looking for a sturdy pair of touring boots I would certainly recommend these.

The quality, design and general fit are excellent, dual zips and velcro make fitting and removal so much easier.
Extremely good value.

Ive given 4 simply because they are newish so have not yet stood the test of time.
Excellent so far and completely dry after all day in the rain. I paid £111 for these as opposed to circa £275 for my usual Sidi Adventure boots.
The reason for the switch being that the Sidi always leak far too soon. i have 3 pairs all a bit worn and all leak.
At this price i can buy a pair each season if they last a few months but hoping theyll last two years.
I'll stick with Adventures when its dry and use these in the rain.
Very well made and protection looks good for a road boot.

I've reduced it down 1 star as you cannot do 0.5 purely from a design POV but the boot seems fine to use so far without the obligatory UK waterproof test so far...
My Spada Hurricanes had to be returned as the sole glue started to come away after 800 mile. They were really comfy in a 46 and I usually wear 44 in normal footwear.
These Oxford 45's fit very similar although may need a little more wearing in I think. I'm sure the fit will be lovely and supple in a few weeks.
From my perspective the zip on the outside that goes from sole to top should have the two leather flaps (or one large) not just the inside. My point being is that water ingress 'could' appear as that's the part of the foot not against the bike and perhaps more susceptible to rainwater? The inside zip only goes half way up but has two flaps with velcro.
Why not cover both zips fully or do what you did the other way around? Look at them and you'll see what I mean.
I'm sure there been plenty looked into for this at design stage by Oxford but seems a little back to front.
The other reason for these being purchased was the gear gator. It goes from sole across to the other side of the boot, not just a plate on the top. Because of this, gear up changes are now more precise and pre-engaged due to foot positioning.
Quality as usual is very nice from Oxford.
Hopefully these will last.

Very pleased with these boots the finish on them is excellent fit very well easy to put and good fit.

Now fully tested, 100% waterproof, bit stiff to start with, but soon softened up in the wet.

Never know how boots will fit for your size I'm usually 7 so ordered 7 and they were just right felt very comfy right off and worn them around house all day with no problems, zips on either side make for quick and easy fitting, like all boots they are stiff which makes for the occasion missed gear they are strong well made and warm, I would say more of a winter boot than summer (not tried in wet weather) grip is good also when you put your foot down, I was able to tuck my Kevlar jeans in to them as the tops are a little wide (see pic), I'm sure these boots will give many years service I would highly recommend these boots for the price.

Generally very good boots that work as advertised in all weathers. A little bulky due to the dual zip arrangement (1 zip on each side of each boot) but at least the boots are easy to put on and take off. Overall very good.
