Advice & Guides Sports helmets are straightforward, lightweight lids that suit riding on road and track
Customers have shared varying experiences with the Shoei NXR2 helmet. Many praised its lightweight design, comfort, and enhanced visibility. The helmet is recognized for its excellent venting and high-quality materials, offering a notable improvement in quietness compared to other models. Some customers highlighted concerns with the visor mechanism, noting difficulties with partial opening in high winds. Despite these issues, most customers are pleased with the helmet's performance and larger field of view, making it a recommended option for many.
Upgraded from an NXR and it just felt familiar but improved! I tried an Arai Quantic (nice fit but too many plastic bits), AGV K6S (completely the wrong shape for me), HJC RHPA-12 (really nice but not such a good fit), but knew the Shoei was right immediately. If you know an NXR fits, then it’s tough to improve on. Big fan of the NXR and Sportsbikeshop.
My son loved the look of this, fit and finish is great thanks SBS
Really well built, shell size is compact, has a perfect SHARP rating and, to top it all off, it looks great.
Another helmet, another Shoei - but why? Having owned numerous quality helmets from different manufacturers in the past, none fit this reviewer as well as Shoei. Build quality is superb, vents and visor systems work as they should, all day comfortable and a five year warranty. My go-to helmet brand. Highly recommended.
Quiet and very comfortable helmet.
Bought this after passing my test and really happy with it. Would definitely recommend.
Great service in the Reading store for trying them on and help with fitting.
Fits really well on the inside and looks good on the outside too. Helmet misted up before attaching the free Pinlock, but since fitting it, it’s never happened. Shame about the double d-ring on the chin strap, should have come with a better fastener for the price. But still worth the money.
So light and comfy with good vents and great looks without me looking like a bobble head .
Went to sportsbikeshop for new crash helmet and gloves, the service I got was 5 star and very helpful. The staff checked the shoei helmet fitted correctly and comfortable and it wasn't in stock at the shop but delivered to me the next day. Outstanding service by sportsbikeshop and will be shopping with them again soon and recommending them to others.
My current helmet is the Shoei NXR. I needed a new one and tried the HJC V10, which was too tight in a large, the Arai Quantic (which to be fair was really comfortable, but I couldn't get past the spoiler on the back and visor release) and then finally the Shoei NXR 2, which felt a little bit more like home. It fits great, is comfortable, looks amazing, can't fault it. Also, the service from SBS was exemplary, being patient with me until I settled on a helmet I was happy with. Thanks
Great price, but also really great staff at the Bristol branch who tweaked the fit with a different liner free of charge. Phenomenal service from Shoei and SBS. Quieter and more comfortable than the Quest it replaced.
I bought this to replace my ageing NXR and it's a good development. The fit is reassuringly tight but comfortable. I haven't been for a high speed run yet but it seems quieter than the old NXR. The visor lock works and the front vent stops my glasses misting up. I'm not in favour of compulsory high visibility clothing but why obscure yourself? This thing is bright red and very visible, which can only be a good thing. At the end of the day, if it fits it's the helmet for you. That's the most important thing
Lovely unusual design combined with Shoei's usual high quality
I have rarely worn it tbo, I took it to the IOM last year along with my old Arai Debut, wore it a couple of times and found it noisy. Fit is good, great quality and to be fair I did not buy it for high speed tracks and IOM playtime I bought it for work, it has a Cardo installed and I wanted it for low speed commuting / working as an engineer. I will start to wear it more this year as my favorite lid is getting worn too much, this was supposed to save it from constant use. Fundamentally it is a very nice helmet, nothing at all wrong with it.
I was looking for quality helmet at a reasonable price, as I wear glasses most helmets are too tight at the front edge , after trying 3 other shops without any look this was the first one I tried on that fit perfectly and allowed for my glasses and at a great price. Thanks again
usual Shoei fit that I've been used to over the years and great update to my old NSX. Visor mechanism has changed but seem ok in the central position. Has speaker cut-outs for intercom (bought separately)
Super comfy, quiet, fits perfectly and feels really light on the move. Ventilation is good and after wearing for many thousands of miles so far it still looks and feels like new
Didn t like the idea of a Matt finish but liked the blue but it looks very good. The fit and finish is high quality from Shoei, I origanly bought a cheaper lid but returned it as wasn t happy with the fit and it felt cheap, this is great. Only niggle is that I had to purchase slim cheek pads as ones that came with helmet were way to large and compressed your jaw, ridiculous having to spend an extra £50 on them.
Very good quality and great protection. Not to noisy and looks good
