Gore-Tex not keeping out water? There's a different procedure to getting it sorted, and here's an explainer...
Bought these just before a February trip to Europe. On the way out temperatures were never above 0°, and with a pair of liner gloves these coped well. On the way back temperatures were low positive, and on their own they were comfortably warm. The seal around the wrist works well, and the fit was good. Did not have any serious rain, only drizzle for an hour's riding or so, and that was fine. Would definitely recommend.
Shorter fingers than most larger sized gloves, which in my opion is good. Because I have 'normal' hands I normally find the fingers in XXL size glves far too long. I tend to loose dexterity on the knobs and buttons parts of the controls, but more importantly there are voids at the tips of the fingers that just let them get cold. I like the short outer cuff as my winter jacket goes OVER my gloves, however the inner elastic cuff is very tight, I hope relaxes a little with use, at the moment I have to take my watch off to get them on comfortably.
Good fit, well made, very comfortable. The only small issue I have is they're quite tight to get on but once on they're supremely comfortable and warm.
Read a few of the reviews for these gloves before I bought them. Currently I have some BKS winter goretex gloves, had them years, I commute and they are perfect, but don't have the android on the finger to work my Waze, so had to buy new.
These Rukka Thermo G's are short cuff so fit under my jacket. Thinner insulation in the palms so I get more heat from my grips, these gloves are definitely waterproof, found that out due to the crap summer we're having.
All in all, from a year round biker who does lots of miles, and has had plenty of bike gear over the years, I can say these gloves do what they are supposed to, keep your hands warm and dry, without loss of feel for you bike controls.
I do tend to suffer from cold hands on the bike, so I've been hunting for a good pair of Goretex / Thermal / Touchscreen gloves for a while now.
I tested them recently on a 370 mile Blood Bike Run in wet conditions & temperature around 7c. With the aid of heated grips, I wasn't aware of my hands being cold so they've definitely ticked that box.
They're not cheap, but they're good quality as you'd expect from Rukka products. I've found them to be waterproof, warm, comfortable and now I can also operate my touchscreen equipment without having to remove my gloves in poor riding conditions - which is exactly what I wanted.
I already had Held spring/ autumn gloves with a knitted cuff. They are excellent.
I needed a winter weight glove where you still have dexterity. These provide it.
They're more expensive than the Richa equivalent but worth the extra. They're an inch longer and that really makes a difference with creating a draft free fit. Also they have a better scaphoid protector.
Good value at the current price but pushing it at full retail.
Or just buy these gloves and get on with your life! Worn at -3c with heated grips on and they kept my fingers from becoming frozen unlike my old winter gloves. I normally take a large but I found them too snug. XL fits fine. Best to try them on in store to get your perfect fit.
Fit perfectly and not exactly cheap but you do get what you pay for compared to some cheaper gloves on the market.
Initially got the size I normally wear but decided to exchange them for a size lower. Tighter fit but better dexterity than the larger pair and I am certain they will stretch a little over time
Nice gloves kept hands warm havent used them in the rain but so far brilliant.
Superb quality and fit . Brilliant service from Sportsbikeshop as always. Warm and fully waterproof, well pleased .
