Richa Adventure Waterproof Boots - Black
Customer Product Reviews
Good value boot
Saw the previous reviews about sizing but found that 44 (I take a 10) was suitable for me (if initially a little on the snug side). If I had gone for 45 I am concerned that they would be too loose when fully broken in. Comfortable and have so far proved to be completely waterproof. A good budget priced waterproof boot. Excellent service from SBS who got both sizes in before I went over to try them on.
Sure footed and dry to boot!
Usually take 7.5 footwear. Ordered Size 8 (42) and perfect fit. Have recently found my feet slipping sometimes on wet tarmac at lights etc but these boots have thick soles which inspire confidence. Not had a buckle fitting before but after a couple of uses they seem easy to use. Not been subjected to our extremely wet season yet but I think they will stand up to it and the height of the boots gives plenty of room for waterproofs to overlap giving better waterproof protection.
Dry feet again
Purchased the size 43 like I had done before but had to return and get the 44 not sure what's happened to the sizes (I would assume at 45 my feet have stopped growing and yes I wore the normal socks I always wear) Feet are now dry, the boots look good and the thick sole and grippy tread gives extra confidence on the wet awful British roads which I'm sure in some countries would be classed as off road with the state of the pot holes and gravel lying around. Will certainly buy again. Sportsbikeshop excellent as usual in all departments, cheers
So good, this is my 2nd pair!
My last pair have ridden across Europe to Austria and this year, to Spain. So a little tired now. But I love these boots so much I bought another pair for forthcoming trips. Great fit for a lady biker, very comfortable for riding long days and not too bad for walking around too - bonus! I feel particularly protected whilst wearing them even after the odd gravel spill!
My Second Pair
Very good boots at a decent price. This is in fact my third pair, unfortunately the first pair had to be replaced after a few months due to a fault on one of the catches. They were replaced FOC with no fuss by Sportsbikeshop. The next pair have lasted me three years and nearly 30,000 miles but the tread is wearing down although not worn out. So this latest pair are a Xmas present to myself, they will be used next year for my tours to Burgundy, Spain & Portugal. All three pairs have always stayed waterproof.
Best foot forward.
I needed some new boots to replace my retired richa tourytype ones. They gave good service but went slightly senile towards the end. Like my Aunty Vera. I ride a CRF through the winter time so fancied a boot which would be waterproof, fit properly, look the part and not cost the national debt of noovarvooalandia. After reading some reviews and looking at what other old farts in the TRF were wearing, I thought I'd give these a go. I ordered size 9. Received size 9. And guess what? They fit. With normal long socks which no doubt the children will replace this Christmas. Quality of boot is fine. Little stiff but I think that's arthritis. And I have some repair work to one ankle. Buckles seem more than adequate and the velcro closure has plenty of velcroness. Tread is purposeful. In summary the boots are more than adequate. Undoubtedly better than my capabilities off piste and should last for a while. Oh ..as usual, sportsbikeshop delivered immediately, were the most competitive price anywhere and I used my voucher from my last purchase too. Thanks .
Lasted 2 years
I've had these boots for just over 2 years now. They've been good up until a long weekend trip to the Ardennes last month! On the way home we rode through a torrential storm and it became apparent that they were no longer waterproof! The flexible fabric in the shin area has worn and the fabric is cracking and stitching coming loose. I expected these boots to last longer as they are made from leather, but the problem is they have also used other man made fabrics which never last very long! So all not great and don't expect them to last if you ride daily in all weather conditions.
Once I got the right size, got the 42 but just a bit tight, returned and tried the 43 which is a good fit in the winter with thicker socks on but thinner socks now the warmer weather is here they are a wee bit loose but then again I don't walk far with them. Haven't had wet feet yet and I ride a lot in the rain. They are certainly warmer in winter than my old pair. They are comfy when walking though, a couple of bits round ankle are still nipping a bit but I have a pair of hiking boots for 10 years and hiked over 3000km and they still hurt - just my ankles I presume. I did have to move the gear lever slightly as I kept missing gears. No problems for me with the ski type fastening and a nice large Velcro area at top.
Good boots - Small fitting
Good boots but rather on the small side when it comes to fitting. I had to get a size 11(45) but I'm only a size 9 (43) normally. The problem being the ankle opening is so small. However a good sturdy boot that I believe will last. Apart from being obviously bigger than I'm normally used to I find them rat5her comfortable.
Great boots, great value
I've only worn these a few times on the bike so far and for such a rugged boot they were surprisingly easy to ride in. I expected gear changes to be a bit tricky but they have enough flex in just the right places so as not to be a problem. They feel rugged and I have walked a good couple of miles in them to help break them in and they still feel like new so I have high expectations that they will last well. The fit was a little on the small side so I wont have room for thick woolly socks in there but I'm not sure I'll need to wear them as these boots feel warm. Overall great value for money compared to other brands, they will need to go some to last as long as my last pair of Alpinestars (12 years) but at those were three times the price!
Good boots - poor fastening
Good boots - taking a bit of breaking in. Main reason for dropping a star is poor ski boot style fastening as when you take them off or for cleaning the plastic slider drops out - I have solved this by putting a tiny cable tie around the end which is hidden when worn. Due to the thickness of the vibram sole I have had to alter the gear shift lever and still not got it just how I would like it. With regular cleaning and waxing I cant see any reason why these boots wont stay water proof.
These boots a very good but have their faults
The shoes are comfy, but the buckles are very dodgy to loosen and tighten. They're waterproof from what I've experienced and you can control the gears on the bike very easily which was my main concern. I brought these boots specifically to make a bit taller.
Good but not perfect
Very low price, and for the price these are good boots. One minor issue, they are very hard to get on, the lower part doesn't open up very far so you need to squeeze your foot in, but there is no pull tag to help. I intend to retrofit a tag. Suggest getting one size bigger, if you can.
